HOW WAS IT FORMED?
A group of six local Vietnam Vets got together in October 2008 and could see the need for support in the 2508 area for War Widows and Veterans, their Families and Carers.
An expression of interest letter was handed out and 35 people attended the first meeting. We registered as a not for profit Charitable Organisation in April 2009 and currently have 46 members.
Widows and Veterans Entitlements Service (WAVES) is supported by the Department of Veteran Affairs in the form of grants to help meet their needs.
